If you clicked on this post because you like any one of coffee, oysters, or champagne, you’re in luck because you’re about to get a healthy dose of all three delicious things. If you clicked on this post because you happen to love those things then be prepared to have your mind blown because I’m about to introduce you to your new fave Toronto spot.
An IG-Worthy Location on King West
I walked by this place on King West a few weeks ago when going to meet some friends for dinner and actually had to stop to read the sign to make sure that I was reading it right.
Coffee? Yes. Oysters?? Hells, yes. Champagne??? Fack, yes!!!
Wondering why I had neither been in there or even heard of it, it was immediately added to the mental list of must-visits. Then, last week as I was walking home from the ACI 2019 Spring Beauty Preview at the Soho Metropolitan hotel (I do a lot of walking when I’m in the core and it’s not minus zero out) I just happened to walk by it again while I was on the hunt for a funky place to do some work and grab a coffee.
This time, I stopped. Re-read the sign to make sure I wasn’t dreaming (and to make sure they were open), and in I went.
The Goods
Coffee. Oysters. Champagne. is absolutely stunning, and likely an IG queen’s dream photo spot. As I was definitely creeping patiently waiting for a girl to pack up her laptop in the most ideal spot in the room, I was able to snap a ton of photos without anyone else in them — super rare for most cafés in Toronto.
Normally I wouldn’t be drinking a glass of bubbles at 1 pm on a Thursday afternoon but, I thought, fuck it. I have a babysitter until 5 pm, I just had a really good morning and felt invigorated to be out and about in the city, and I was closing in on signing off on a really exciting upcoming project.
CHAMPAGNE FOR EVERRRRRYONE.
So, I had a glass of rosé Crémant, 1/2 dozen naked oysters (3 split east coast and west coast — one type called “Savage Blonde”, lol), and a cappuccino. All delicious.
They encourage you to bring a laptop and work, or read, hang out, whatever. The staff is super nice and very laid back and it was surprisingly not busy until about 4 pm for the after work crowd.
Location
Coffee. Oysters. Champagne is located at 214 King Street West in Toronto.
Go there. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.
