A few weeks ago, before I officially announced the #hammertwins, I had the pleasure of attending a relaxing prenatal yoga session run by the team at First Response. The yoga was, of course, lovely, but the main focus of this event was to chat about common fertility and pregnancy misconceptions – and- to announce the arrival of the first ever prenatal vitamin gummy.First, we were guided through a 45-minute yoga class that was personally, much needed. I was 16 weeks at the time and starting to feel some of the general body aches and pains I’ve been told so much about. At this stage, walking up stairs or even talking too fast would put me out of breath. I was thrilled I could confidently finish this session.
Following the class, we had a Q+A session with Dr. Sierra all about #conceptionmisconceptions. Being a mid-30’s gal, pregnant with her first babies, I found some of the misconceptions interesting. Others I knew having researched them before we decided to try for a family.
One thing she touched on was that it is important to actually start taking a prenatal vitamin 3-6 months before you start trying. I swapped my regular multivitamin for prenatals about 6 months before. This was mostly because the ingredients were so similar that it wouldn’t make a difference to my body, with the except of the folate content.
I’m really looking forward to trying out the First Response Prenatal Gummies. My current prenatal feels like it is contributing to my nausea. And, to be honest, these gummies kind of seem like a treat, lol.
The one thing I will have to be aware of is that they don’t contain Iron or Omega 3’s. So my plan is to bring the bottle to my OB, and see if it’s necessary for me to supplement with anything else.
Overall, it was a nice break to do some yoga, have a personal Q+A with Dr. Sierra, and meet some other ladies who are on a journey similar to mine. Well, maybe not the twin journey, but you know what I mean 😉
I honestly feel like an 80-year-old woman with my weekly box of vitamins and supplements.
So, replacing a pill with a gummy is a-ok with me!

Awww, twins! Congratulations! This brings back so many memories. It’s nice that you were able to attend the class, I know that would’ve helped me a lot if they were available back then, lol.

I am not pregnant, but the prenatal gummies sound like that they at least taste better than the regular ones! I hope these work better for you than your current ones.

PatriciaThanks very much, Patricia. They sure do taste better, lol.

Congratulations on being pregnant with twins! That’s so exciting! I am not a mom, nor am I on the journey to being one anytime soon, but I do take prenatal vitamins because they are also really good for your hair! And who doesn’t like gummies? 🙂
