I’m not one for New Year’s resolutions, but there are two things I do on New Year’s Eve as part of my routine; 1) clean my makeup brushes and 2) throw out old makeup. I do both of these things regularly — wash my brushes once a week and toss old makeup every month or so — but these two cleansing activities give me some weird peace of mind on December 31st. You don’t want to start off a new year with bad makeup 😉
This year, I’m focusing on simplifying my skincare and beauty routines. That means less individual products and more multipurpose products. I need to save time and money, and these multitask products are my current favourites to help me with that.
My 4 Favourite Multitask Products
1// Tarte Tarteist Contour Palette
Uses: Eyeshadow, Contour, Highlight, Blush, Brows
I love this palette for the summer and warmer months as I find the powder composition is easier to work with when you’re generally hot and sweaty. I use the highlight and correct colours for powder finish, eyeshadow base and highlighting, the blush colour for blush and eyeshadow, the contour colours for bronzer and eyebrows. It’s amazing for travelling!
2// Nars The Multiple
Uses: Lips, Eyes, Cheeks
I love this product in Maui or the classic shimmery pink, Orgasm. Keep this in your purse for quick fixes and touch up pops of colour. Use it as eyeshadow, lip colour, or blush. The cream formula can take some practice if you are used to using powders, so start light and remember less is more.
3// NYX Wonder Pencil
Uses: Concealer, Brow Line, Highlighter, Lip Liner, Eye Brightener
Ah yes, the Wonder Pencil. True to its name, this little wonder serves several purposes and takes up little real estate in your makeup bag (and even less of your bank account).
4// Vichy Normaderm 3-in-1
Uses: Mask, Exfoliant, Cleanser
This mask/scrub/cleanser combo is pure magic for combination and breakout-prone skin. This was one of the first products I found success with for my adult acne and cystic breakouts. It’s not overly expensive compared to other boutique brands, and the 3-in-1 use wins me over.

These seem like great suggest. Although I’m only able to use the last one. But overall, I could still use the concept by using different products that work with my skin tone.

Great post! I’ve emailed a link to my wife to read too!

Yes! Huge fan of products that have dual purposes! I also know that I’m terrible at going through my makeup and getting rid of them when it’s time (expired?) but it’s partily because I’m a terribly hoarder sometimes and the struggle is real! All of these products are new to me, so thanks for sharing! Happy new year!
Nina
I am OBSESSED with all things beauty and makeup related. I love Nars products, they are the best and worth the investment!

Great products! The Nars product looks especially interesting. I like the colors. Where can one get it? Is it sold in any department stores yet?
