Natural Glam With Tartelette In Bloom 2

When it comes to makeup, I go through phases of which products I use and which I ignore.  All spring/summer I have been obsessed with lip stuffs. Specifically liquid lipstick.  Summer is too hot and too busy for me to worry about doing eye makeup, except for special events. I’m pretty much wearing sunglasses all the time, anyway. So brows and lips were the staples. Now that it’s fall, and I’m going for much more natural of a look compared to the bright lips of fall, I’ve come back to using eye makeup and leaving my poor lips alone, lol. That brings me to the makeup magic that is the Tartelette In Bloom 2 eyeshadow palette.

How much do I love Tarte’s In Bloom Palette??  So so so so sos osososoosoosoooooooo much. This is the only eyeshadow palette I own right now, it is that versatile. I also went through a bit of a makeup purge, tossing old singles and broken palettes, really trying to find that one that could do it all. This is the one. Give your other eyeshadow the respectful funeral it deserves, and give this unicorn a test drive.

Coming in at $45 US on their website and at Sephora, it is middle of the road cost wise compared to other brands.  For the same size you can get cheaper (Sephora Collection, NYX), and you can get much more expensive (Dior, Charlotte Tillbury), but it all depends on how the actual formulas work on you.

I have very sensitive skin and eyes, and I found that most of my eyeshadow could only be worn for a few hours before I started rubbing my eyes or the makeup started to flake off. I love Tarte’s new #rethinknatural campaign — showcasing their cruelty free and vegan friendly certifications, AND their products are always formulated without icky stuff like: parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate or gluten.

So, why exactly do I love the In Bloom 2 palette so much?

1- It has 12 gorgeous nudes and neutrals.

9 matte colors and 3 shimmery. I love that there is a combo of mattes and shimmer. This was a huge selling point for me as I don’t want to have separate kits for matte looks.

2- It smells like vanilla.

Or cupcakes. Or heaven. I’m not quite sure, but seriously, it smells divine.

3- The pigments are so amazing.

I use way less of this powder than any other I’ve owned before to create layered and blended looks. If you own a feathering brush you’ll know what I mean. If you don’t own one, make the investment! Eyeshadow application will never be easier or more satisfying, lol.

4- It’s powered by Amazonian Clay.

Which means it’s long wearing and good for you! According to the Tarte Cosmetics website, “Amazonian clay is nature’s most perfect ingredient for better, longer, truer wear. Mineral pigments soothe and soften skin.” Sign me up!

5- The shade names are awesome.

My fave is the terracotta color – Rebel. Others include: Jetsetter, Smarty Pants, Smokeshow and Firecracker.

Thanks, lady! My lips get too chapped in the winter so it’s time to play up the eyes!
