The nude lip trend is one of those makeup things, like foundation, where you cautiously apply a combination of products for 10-30 minutes to achieve a result that makes you appear as though you are wearing no makeup at all. Sigh.
However, nude lips are a pretty classic look and it’s easy to make it look like you only spent 5 minutes doing it. I’ve tested out some of my favourites for you below – take a peek 🙂
I own a ton of lipsticks, glosses, stains, balms.. you name it. Sometimes I just buy lip products without testing them which is a…
For the love of makeup, test your products first. Go to Sephora or Ulta and spend some time trying stuff out and looking at it in different lights. Get samples. Go home. Practice. It sounds like a lot, but if you spend money on something you haven’t seen on your own skin tone, and you don’t know how to apply it, you’ll end up with a drawer full of sad makeup rejects. This especially goes for any brand of liquid lipstick. That shit sets faaaast. Like, super fast. You have to be good with lines and have a decently steady hand. That’s not meant to scare you, just a heads up. It. Takes. Practice.

Dusk Till Dawn // Dolce // Belissima //Caramello
The Party Proof lipstick is an awesome color and texture, though it says that it is long wearing, I didn’t really find that to be true. If I used lip liner, it stayed longer, but darkened the colour. The best thing about this lipstick is that it’s super moisturizing for a matte, and it smells sweet like candy.
The Stila Liquid Lipstick is one of my all-time faves (I own 9 of them… yes, 9). The Dolce has a bit of sparkle to it that I didn’t see when I bought it (see top of post), and is a bit more on the brown side than I would normally wear. The Belissima is a cotton candy pink, and really fun for the spring/summer. I rock this one when I’m wearing pastels or neutrals (rare, but it happens). The Caramello is a really light pink/cream, and is comparable to the Kylie Jenner Lip Kit in Koko K. I use this one the most out of my Stila nudes.
